Hello! My name is Alice.

I am a Ruby developer, writer, and occasional theatre actor and director. I spent two fantastic years at Constant Contact and currently work at Contently.

You can see a talk I gave about mentorship in software engineering teams here, or read an article on the topic here.

I recently co-directed an all-female, mostly-nude production of The Tempest with my good friend Pitr Strait. The production celebrated body positivity and free expression, and was covered in the Guardian, Salon, NBC News, the Huffington Post, Jezebel, the Atlantic, and many more. The two performances were attended by over 400 people.

I’m passionate about merging my love of code with creative ideas. At the moment, I'm working on two short visual novels and a magnetic-poetry-with-Twitter app.

I also spend some of my spare time working on horror fiction that aims to commit violence against the known laws of the universe. I'm an admirer of writers like Thomas Ligotti, H.P. Lovecraft, Laird Barron, Caitlin R. Kiernan, Ramsey Campbell, Poppy Z. Brite, and Edgar Allan Poe.
